TRIPTYKON - SHATTER

Bleak and compelling, Triptykon’s ‘Shatter’ proves that doom metal can indeed be compact without sacrificing an inch of its suffocating heaviness (listen to rumble of that bass tone!) Whilst the driving rhythm and the sludgy, lurching guitars are a treat, the female vocals of the chorus for me make ‘Shatter’ such a sublime and dynamic listen.

The video is also a a real treat. Its stark lightning and elongated, exaggerated shadows bring to mind the tortured, isolated forms of German Expressionism, and really captures the darkness of the track.
