Joey Molinaro: The Inalienable Dreamless Suite (‘Sound Out the Braille’ to ‘Loveless’)

I never thought I’d see the day that a classical musician would craft Discordance Axis covers on his violin, but here it is - and it’s fucking INCREDIBLE! If you’re familiar with DA’s grind opus, ‘The Inalienable Dreamless’, you can recall its almost impenetrable, claustrophobic intensity - sputtering, paranoid clusterfuck of an album that masterfully teeters on the brink of collapse.

With his trusty violin and frantic stamping on a hardwood floor, Joey Molinaro re-envisions DA’s dense grind assault, eschewing their feverish, post-apocalyptic dread for the type of blood-chilling, Existential anguish of German Expressionism. For some reason, the interpretations conjure gruesome images of nails scratching so violently on blackboards that blood gushes from their trembling, splintered shards, only to be torn off torturously with rusty pliers while piano wire is slicing slowly through the gaps between your fingers

That last line may have been just a touch bit melodramatic, but this video is totally fucking worth the hyperbole - it is AMAZING! So go do yourselves a favour and watch it!

Go on, do it.
